The deadline for completing Aadhaar-based e-KYC is approaching. According to reports, lakhs of customers are receiving alerts to complete their e-KYC process by August 16. This process is mandatory; those who fail to complete it may become ineligible to purchase LPG cylinders at subsidized rates—which are cheaper than commercial rates. Reports also indicate that customers who do not complete the e-KYC might have to purchase LPG cylinders at commercial rates.
We have listed the essential rules and implications here so that you can complete your e-KYC before the deadline and book your preferred LPG cylinder without any hassle.
A message sent by Indian Oil has asked customers to complete their e-KYC by August 16. Many Indane Gas customers have received this message. It reads: "Dear Customer, completing e-KYC is mandatory to avail LPG cylinders at domestic rates. Despite previous reminders, you have not yet completed your e-KYC. You can complete the e-KYC from the comfort of your home via the IndianOil ONE App, by visiting your distributor, or through the delivery person. Failure to complete e-KYC by August 16, 2026, will make you ineligible to receive cylinders at domestic rates until the process is completed. Please complete your e-KYC as soon as possible."
Indian Oil also issued a notification via a post on August 4: "Complete your biometric Aadhaar authentication (e-KYC) today for a smooth LPG experience!" The post on X (formerly Twitter) further stated, "Use the IndianOil ONE App, get it done through the delivery person during LPG cylinder delivery, or visit your Indane distributor."
