According to the American publication The Wall Street Journal, OpenAI is offering its employees an average package of $1.5 million, or approximately ₹13.5 crore, which is several times higher than the packages offered by other major tech companies. Currently, OpenAI has a workforce of around 4,000 employees. This amount is significantly less than what Google offered before its IPO. Google launched its IPO in 2003, and at that time, the company's stock-based package was seven times less than what OpenAI is offering now.
According to the report, OpenAI's package is 34 times higher than the packages offered by 18 other major tech companies before their IPOs in that year. This indicates the high demand for AI skills in the market by 2026. Recently, OpenAI has prepared to increase equity compensation for top researchers and engineers to retain them in the AI sector.
Massive Packages in AI Jobs
