In January, OpenAI introduced a dedicated workspace called 'ChatGPT Health' for users to ask health-related questions to an AI-powered chatbot. Since its launch, the feature has been in early access, available only to a limited number of users via a waitlist. Now, the Sam Altman-led AI company has announced that ChatGPT Health is available to all users in the US. The company states that to receive personalized responses from the AI agent, users must connect their health apps—such as Apple Health—and share their medical records. OpenAI also noted a significant increase in the frequency of health-related questions users are asking ChatGPT.

**ChatGPT Health Now Available to Everyone in the US**
On Thursday, the US-based AI company launched ChatGPT Health, making it available to all logged-in free and paid users aged 18 and older in the US via web and iOS. However, the company clarified that the health feature is not currently available in Codex. OpenAI notes that users do not need to connect other apps to ask general health-related questions.

However, users seeking highly personalized and precise answers regarding their health will need to securely connect their Apple Health app and 'supported' medical records from various US hospital systems (such as One Medical and Function Health). Users can access ChatGPT Health via the sidebar or the 'More' menu. ChatGPT itself will guide users through the process of connecting their health records and metrics.

Using synced records, ChatGPT Health will be able to access data on the user's medications, lab results, recent doctor visits, and sleep activity. It will also take into account the user's health goals and provided information. For instance, the company explained that if a user is searching for a restaurant, ChatGPT Health will consider their dietary restrictions. Additionally, when planning light weekend activities, the chatbot will take into account the user's recent injuries. Users will be able to manage their health-related information, view data and trends, browse synced records, and revisit past health conversations.

Sam Altman's company also highlighted that its recently launched GPT-5.6 Sol AI model outperformed the GPT-5.5 Instant and GPT-4o models on the HealthBench Professional platform. This platform evaluates AI performance based on criteria such as accuracy, safety, communication, context awareness, completeness, and the timeliness of advice to consult a doctor. The GPT-5.6 Sol model scored 91 in accuracy, 86.7 in clear communication, 88 in completeness, 93.8 in following instructions, and 83 in health decision helpfulness.

Furthermore, the US tech firm claims that ChatGPT users ask the AI chatbot over 300 million health-related questions every week. OpenAI also notes that users are utilizing this AI agent to interpret lab results, prepare for doctor's appointments, understand medical advice, and establish healthier routines.
