How to stop ChatGPT from collecting data?

Sign in to your ChatGPT account and tap on the profile icon. Then, open 'Settings' and select 'Data Controls'. Here, turn off the option labeled 'Improve the model for everyone'. Once disabled, your conversations will not be used to train OpenAI's future models. You can also delete your chat history from this same section. Keep in mind that doing so means the chatbot will no longer have the context of your past conversations.

What to do for Google Gemini?

To stop data collection on Google Gemini, you need to make changes in two places. First, visit the 'My Activity' page by entering `myactivity.google.com` in your browser. Here, you need to turn off 'Web & App Activity'. This stops your new data, app activity, and other information from being used for AI training. To delete old data and activity, tap the 'Delete' option and select a time range. You can also turn off activity directly within Gemini.

How to prevent data from being shared with Claude?

If you use Anthropic's Claude frequently, you can stop data collection by adjusting your privacy settings. To do this, sign in to Claude and tap on your profile icon. Then, open the settings and select 'Privacy'. From there, turn off the 'Help improve AI models' option. Similarly, you can delete past conversations in the chat section; these chats will be permanently removed from the system 30 days after deletion.

Can data collection be stopped on Meta AI as well?

Unlike other chatbots, Meta AI does not offer a direct option to disable data collection. However, you can submit a privacy request. Additionally, to protect your data, you can set your Instagram and Facebook accounts to private, thereby limiting the public availability of your content.
