Census 2027: How to Perform Self-Enumeration from Home in Just 15 Minutes? Check Out the Official Website and the Simple Method..
Census 2027: The first phase of Census 2027 commenced on April 1st. This time, the census process will be significantly more high-tech and distinct from previous iterations. A new system of 'Self-Enumeration' has been introduced for this census. In previous censuses, data collection was not conducted via digital mediums; consequently, this facility was unavailable.
This time, citizens can enter their own information digitally. This facility will be available during a 15-day window immediately preceding the commencement of the door-to-door enumeration activity in the respective state or Union Territory. During this period, households can independently record their details. In this context, we are here today to guide you on how to complete the self-enumeration process from the comfort of your home in just 15 minutes.
**The Step-by-Step Process for Self-Enumeration**
First, visit the portal: se.census.gov.in.
Once the portal opens, select your state and enter the CAPTCHA code.
Next, enter the name of the Head of the Household and their mobile number. (Please note: Only one household can be registered per mobile number, and the name of the Head of the Household cannot be changed later.)
Select your preferred language from the 16 options available on the portal and complete the OTP verification process. (Keep in mind that the selected language cannot be changed subsequently.)
Fill in the details regarding your district or city.
Drag and place the red marker displayed on the map to pinpoint the exact location of your home.
Answer all 33 questions related to the House Listing process. If you encounter any difficulties or confusion, you may refer to the 'Notes' or 'Tooltips' for assistance.
After reviewing all the entered data, click on 'Final Submit'. Once submitted, you will no longer be able to make any changes yourself.
Upon successful submission, a unique 'SE ID' will appear on your screen; please take a screenshot of it.
The SE ID will also be sent to your registered mobile number via SMS and to your registered email address. Please keep this ID safe for future reference.
When census enumerators visit your home, provide them with your SE ID. Once this ID is matched, your data will be verified and officially accepted. Two Phases of the Census
Phase I – House-listing and Housing Census (April to September 2026): In this phase, information related to households will be collected—such as the condition of the house, the amenities available within it, and the assets or property owned by the family.
Phase II – Population Enumeration will commence in February 2027. This phase will involve collecting information regarding individuals' age, education, and socio-economic status. The caste enumeration will also be conducted during this phase.
