BSNL 4G Launch: PM Modi launches BSNL's 4G service, with official 5G expected this year...

BSNL 4G Launch: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched BSNL's 4G network in the country. He also inaugurated various projects in Odisha and launched BSNL's 4G service in India. This network has been rolled out to 98,000 sites across the country. With the launch of BSNL's 4G service, all telecom operators in India are now 4G-enabled. This is because other providers like Airtel, Vi, and Jio already have 4G networks. The government claims that BSNL's 4G network is built on indigenous technology. India is now part of the list of countries that can develop 4G-enabled software and hardware in-house. India is ranked among the top five countries in this category. 37,000 crore rupees have been spent on developing this network. This is a major step towards India's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India).
India joins the list of these countries.
Countries that manufacture their own telecom software and hardware include Sweden, Denmark, China, and South Korea. With the launch of BSNL 4G, India has also joined this list. As soon as the BSNL 4G work was completed, preparations for 5G have also begun. Officials have indicated that 5G services will soon be launched in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai. The 4G rollout could benefit BSNL's more than 90 million wireless subscribers.
A 6G network may be available in India by 2030
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a roadmap for 6G networks for India. It is expected that 6G networks will be available in India by 2030. However, BSNL has lagged behind private telecom companies in this race. Companies like Jio and Airtel launched 5G services in 2022.
These companies played a significant role.
Indian companies played a key role in the launch of the BSNL 4G network. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) played a key role in the rollout and integration. Its radio access network was developed by Tejas Networks, and the system integration was handled by Integrate.
Old customers may return
Reports claim that BSNL's 4G network is designed to be easily upgraded to 5G. The company is aiming to launch 5G services in Delhi and Mumbai later this year. Users who left BSNL due to connectivity issues can return to the government network. Its recharge plans are significantly cheaper than those of private operators.
