Booking rules for LPG consumers are set to change starting October 1, 2026. On September 20, the government announced that completing Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (BAA) will be mandatory to book LPG refills at the subsidized regulated retail selling price (RSP). The government stated that BAA ensures subsidized LPG reaches only genuine and eligible households.

The government clarified that the objective of this process is not to deprive any genuine household of LPG, and every eligible consumer can complete the requirement through several easy methods. Linking all LPG connections to Aadhaar-authenticated consumers helps prevent the commercial and industrial use of subsidized domestic cylinders.

**What changes will occur from October 1, 2026?**
Consumers who have already completed BAA do not need to do it again; they will continue to receive LPG refills as usual. For consumers who have not yet completed BAA, booking refills at the subsidized RSP will commence once the authentication is completed.

**How ​​to complete the BAA process**
Authentication can be completed on the spot during refill delivery by the delivery person using the OMC mobile app. Consumers can also visit their LPG distributor's outlet to complete the authentication. Additionally, consumers can complete the process themselves from the comfort of their homes using the OMC mobile app.

**What are the options for consumers who cannot complete BAA?**
Consumers who are unwilling or unable to complete BAA can still avail of LPG services. They must register this option via their OMC’s digital channels—such as the consumer web portal, mobile app, WhatsApp chatbot, IVRS, or other available channels. These consumers will be supplied LPG in 5 kg or 10 kg cylinders at the applicable market price—without any subsidy—subject to local availability with the OMC.

Complete the BAA process before October 1
