The habit of checking the Facebook Feed immediately upon opening the app might change in the near future. Meta is preparing to test a new video-first experience on its platform. Under this initiative, select users might see full-screen videos immediately upon opening the app. However, this change will not apply to all users right away.

According to Meta, the test will begin later this year, initially involving a limited number of users. The company believes that people on Facebook now prefer viewing more visual and immersive content. The role of video on the platform is also steadily growing; people are not just watching content but are interacting, connecting with communities, and even purchasing products through videos.

**Full-screen video might appear upon opening the app**
According to Facebook head Tom Allison, Meta is developing a new experience for users who wish to watch more videos on the platform. Users included in the new test might see full-screen videos as soon as they launch the app.

However, this does not mean that Facebook's existing Feed will be eliminated. The classic Feed will remain available and can be accessed via a separate secondary tab. This means users participating in the test will be able to switch between the video experience and the traditional Feed based on their preference. This shift clearly indicates that Meta is moving towards prioritizing video content on Facebook more than ever before.

**Changes coinciding with Marketplace's 10th anniversary**
This experiment by Facebook comes as the company marks the 10th anniversary of its Marketplace. According to Tom Allison, the idea for Marketplace stemmed from observing user behavior, where people were already buying and selling goods through Facebook Groups. Now, to make Marketplace even more useful, Meta is also testing a separate app for sellers.

New App Being Developed for Sellers
A new seller app is being designed specifically for those who regularly sell goods on the Marketplace. Its objective is to provide a centralized platform for managing various sales-related tasks. The app will feature an option to create product listings with the help of AI. Additionally, tools such as a unified inbox, inventory management, and sales performance insights may also be included.

The seller app will integrate with Facebook, enabling sellers to maintain connections with Marketplace buyers and their communities. Meta is focusing on streamlining the workflow for sellers who list products in large volumes. Thus, while plans are underway to revamp the video-watching experience on Facebook, new tools are simultaneously being introduced for those selling goods via the Marketplace.
