A significant step has been taken in India to make the AYUSH knowledge system multilingual and more accessible. A crucial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ministry of AYUSH and the Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD), which operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The primary objective of this partnership is to facilitate the rapid translation and transcription of AYUSH-related information using advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI).

**Initiative to be Implemented Under the 'Bhashini Rajyam' Program**
This new initiative has been named "Bhashini Rajyam – A Bhashini Collaborative Program." Under this framework, the AYUSH Grid portals and digital applications of the Ministry of AYUSH will be integrated with Bhashini's National Language Digital Public Infrastructure. The direct benefit of this integration will be that information related to healthcare, research, and medicines will now be available in all 22 Indian languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

Furthermore, specialized multilingual glossaries and datasets will be developed for Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Yoga & Naturopathy, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homeopathy. The agreement was formally signed by Dr. Subodh Kumar, Director at the Ministry of AYUSH, and Mr. Amitabh Nag, CEO of Bhashini.

**AI to Generate Prescriptions; Doctor-Patient Communication to Become Easier**
On this special occasion, the Bhashini team demonstrated several AI tools that are expected to prove immensely beneficial for the general public. Most notable among these was an AI system capable of listening to multilingual conversations between doctors and patients and instantly generating a medical prescription. Additionally, tools for real-time transcription of meetings via 'Shrutlekh', a voice-to-CV generation solution for laborers, and technology for digitizing India's ancient manuscripts were also showcased.

Digital Public Infrastructure to Receive a Boost
Applauding this initiative, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, stated, "A wealth of cultural and civilizational knowledge is embedded within the Ayush systems of medicine. It is imperative to make this knowledge available in every Indian language to ensure that healthcare services reach everyone. In collaboration with Bhashini, we are developing future-ready AI systems designed to break down linguistic barriers."

Highlighting the benefits at the grassroots level, Dr. Kavita Jain, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Ayush, noted that multilingual AI solutions—particularly doctor-patient interaction systems capable of generating prescriptions—have the potential to bring about a transformative change in rural healthcare services.

Meanwhile, Shri Amitabh Nag, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bhashini, emphasized that AI systems capable of accommodating diverse languages are crucial for digital public services. This partnership will enable citizens to access healthcare services in the language of their choice.
