ASUS WiFi 8 Router: ASUS has created a buzz in the tech world by unveiling the world's first WiFi 8 router at the Computex 2026 event in Taiwan. The company claims that this router can simultaneously handle three different broadband connections, including those from providers like Jio and Airtel. Additionally, it is capable of delivering high-speed internet of up to 30Gbps. Named the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro, this router has been designed specifically with gamers and high-speed internet users in mind. Although WiFi 8 technology is still in its early stages, this device offers a glimpse into future internet requirements.

Support for Three Simultaneous Broadband Connections
ASUS's new ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro router is garnering attention due to its multi-WAN capability. Users can simultaneously connect to services from different internet service providers, such as Jio and Airtel, using this router. Furthermore, a third broadband connection can also be added. A major advantage of this setup is that if one network encounters an issue or goes down, the system can automatically switch to another available network. This ensures continuous internet connectivity, preventing interruptions during work, streaming, or gaming. This feature is particularly useful for individuals who require a stable internet connection at all times.

Speeds of Up to 30Gbps
According to reports, this router is based on the IEEE 802.11bn—or WiFi 8—technology. Although the official WiFi 8 standard is not yet finalized and is expected to be completed by 2028, ASUS has already begun utilizing advanced hardware for it. The company has incorporated a quad-band design, which enhances both network capacity and stability. The router is designed to deliver a total wireless speed of up to 30Gbps. This speed is manifold higher than that of current home and office networks. Consequently, as faster internet services and new devices enter the market in the coming years, this router will be able to easily meet their requirements.

Specially Designed for Gaming
Asus has developed this router with a specific focus on intensive gaming and high-performance networking. It features dual 10G ports that support link aggregation of up to 20Gbps. To keep the device cool during such high-speed operation and processing, the company has incorporated an active cooling system. It utilizes an aluminum heat plate with a nano-carbon coating, which helps maintain a stable temperature. However, since most smartphones, laptops, and other devices currently on the market are limited to Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7, users will not yet be able to fully utilize the router's capabilities. Additionally, the company has not yet disclosed its price or release date.
