Sometimes, you suddenly receive a message on your mobile phone about money being deducted via UPI, and you can't figure out where the payment went. You haven't done any online shopping, nor have you transferred money to anyone. So, where did this money deduction message come from? If you're experiencing something similar, the reason might be an AutoPay subscription linked to your UPI account.

Often, we activate AutoPay for OTT platforms, mobile recharges, music streaming, and other digital services and then forget about it. By the time we realize it's on AutoPay, the money has already been deducted. Let's understand the hidden workings of AutoPay.

What is the hidden game of AutoPay?
The AutoPay feature is designed for user convenience, but this feature can sometimes cause problems. The subscription continues even after the trial period ends. With AutoPay active on multiple apps, it's easy to lose track of where the money is being deducted from. All these things together can significantly increase expenses. At the end of the month, some people realize how much money has been unnecessarily deducted from their accounts, but you can easily manage this using a government portal. Let's find out how.

Manage everything through the government portal.
In fact, NPCI is offering an easy solution to this problem. Users can manage all AutoPay payments related to their accounts from the official NPCI website (https://www.upihelp.npci.org.in). You simply need to log in with your phone number. After that, you won't need to navigate through the settings of different UPI apps. All your UPI-linked AutoPay subscriptions will be visible in one place.

Additionally, you can directly pause or revoke any AutoPay subscription from here. Pausing an AutoPay will temporarily stop it, while revoking it will completely cancel the subscription. This way, you can save yourself from money being silently deducted from your account.
