US tech giant Apple is preparing to strengthen its foothold in the smart home market. The company may soon launch several new smart home devices. Notably, some of these products are being developed in collaboration with the South Korean company LG Electronics. These include smart doorbells, smart locks, thermostats, and security cameras.

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple aims to create a comprehensive ecosystem by integrating these devices with its new smart home hub. A new HomePod mini and a new TV set-top box could also be introduced alongside them. Apple's new smart home devices are expected to be unveiled on October 13.

**Plans to Launch These Products**
It is reported that the products developed in partnership with LG will be marketed under the LG brand name. LG will also handle manufacturing and after-sales service. The lineup may include products such as a wired video doorbell, floodlight cam, outdoor camera, indoor camera, smart deadbolt lock, smart thermostat, and temperature sensor.

**Devices Equipped with Modern Technology**
These devices will support smart home standards like Thread and Matter, in addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The smart lock may also feature UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology, enabling the door to unlock automatically when the user approaches the house. However, neither Apple nor LG has issued a statement regarding this partnership. Interestingly, while LG has recently initiated the process for regulatory approvals for these devices in the US, Apple is not mentioned in the documents.

**When Will the Products Hit the Market?**
According to the report, it may take a few months for LG's new devices to reach consumers. This move is seen as an effort by Apple to revitalize its HomeKit platform. Apple launched HomeKit in 2014, but it did not achieve the same level of popularity as the smart home platforms from Amazon and Google. Now, the company aims to make a fresh start in this segment using its smart home devices and the Siri AI assistant. In the future, the company may also introduce a privacy-focused home monitoring device, a smart home hub featuring a robotic arm, and an in-home security service.
