Another fantastic feature arrives on WhatsApp; people without an account will benefit directly..
Over the past few months, WhatsApp has been rolling out a series of impressive features for its millions of users. Most recently, the company has introduced a new "guest calling" feature designed to simplify the calling experience. This feature allows individuals who do not have a WhatsApp account to join audio and video calls.
Users simply need to generate a call link and share it with the person they wish to invite. Notably, these guest calls are protected by end-to-end encryption. Let’s take a closer look at how it works...
Free Audio and Video Calls
With this new feature, users can include individuals without a WhatsApp account in both one-on-one and group calls. A single call can accommodate up to 32 participants, including guests. The company has stated that these calls are free and have no time limits.
How to Use the Guest Calling Feature
To initiate a guest call, navigate to the 'Calls' tab in WhatsApp.
Tap on the '+' icon.
Generate a call link and share it with the person you want to invite.
The invited individual can open the link in a web browser on their computer.
They will then be prompted to enter their name and submit a request to join the call.
Please note that the ability to create a call link is available exclusively to users who have a WhatsApp account.
Permission Required to Join
A key aspect of this feature is that the call host has the authority to decide who can join the call. Guests are initially placed in a "waiting room" and can only join the call once the host grants permission. The host also retains full control, with the ability to remove a guest from the call at any time.
