Android users are misusing this feature! Find out what they're doing wrong.
Tech Tips: Initially, this feature was just a simple way to search for anything on the screen, but it has now evolved into a highly intelligent AI tool.
Android smartphones offer a multitude of features that significantly simplify tasks for users. Modern, advanced smartphones even come equipped with AI capabilities. One such feature available to Android users is "Circle to Search," yet many people still fail to utilize it correctly.
Indeed, while this feature started as a simple method to search for items on the screen, it has now transformed into a sophisticated AI tool. Most people still limit its use to searching for specific photos or text, overlooking the fact that it can perform various tasks that save a considerable amount of time.
Furthermore, have you ever spotted a beautiful location, a café, or a famous landmark in a Reel or YouTube video and wanted to know its name? Simply activate "Circle to Search" and draw a circle around that place or landmark; the AI can instantly display relevant information. This method also works for identifying famous people, animals, plants, or food dishes.
That’s not all—if you encounter text in a foreign language within a photo, poster, video, or social media post, there is no need to copy it manually. Just activate "Circle to Search" and select the text area; within seconds, a full translation will appear in your preferred language. You can also instantly translate the entire content displayed on the screen.
Previously, calling a phone number found on a website, social media post, or app required copying it first—a process often complicated by the inability to select the number properly. With "Circle to Search," however, you simply need to tap on the number. It instantly recognizes the number and provides a direct option to call, eliminating the need to memorize or copy-paste it. Sometimes, text within a photo or screenshot is too small to read easily. To address this, simply use the standard pinch-to-zoom gesture on your screen after activating Circle to Search. This allows you to enlarge a specific area for comfortable reading and then perform a search based on that section.
Circle to Search can also help identify songs playing nearby or music featured in social media videos if you don't know the title. Simply activate the feature and tap the music icon; the phone will attempt to recognize the song playing in your surroundings or on your device. You can even search for a song by humming its melody.
Fake news and online fraud are on the rise. If you are suspicious of a message, offer, or piece of information, select it using Circle to Search. AI can retrieve facts related to that information to help verify the accuracy of the claim. You can also ask follow-up questions on the topic to gather more details if needed.
You often come across clothing, gadgets, or home decor items on social media without knowing their names. By circling the product with Circle to Search, you can instantly view details such as its name, brand, and similar items. In many cases, online purchasing options are also displayed.
