Update Email Address for Free
UIDAI states that while the process for updating the mobile number remains the same, the option is now located within the 'Services' section. Additionally, the facility to add and update email addresses was introduced in the app on July 1, 2026. This feature is available for both Android and iPhone users. Currently, you can update your email address without any extra charge for a period of six months.

How to Update Your Email Address?
Open the Aadhaar mobile app on your phone.
Go to the 'Services' section visible at the bottom.
Select the option to update your email address.
Click on 'Continue to update email address'.
Enter your email address and verify it.

How to Update Your Mobile Number in Aadhaar?
To update your mobile number, open the Aadhaar mobile app.
Go to the 'Services' tab in the app.
Select the 'Mobile Number Update' option.
Tap on 'Continue to Update Mobile Number'.
Enter the new mobile number and complete the verification using the OTP.
Follow the authentication steps displayed on the screen.
Once submitted, the request will be sent to UIDAI.

A Fee of ₹75 Applies
However, you will have to pay a fee of ₹75 to update your mobile number. Typically, this process takes 10 to 15 days to complete. The status of the update can also be easily tracked through the app itself.
