Microsoft has finally fulfilled a long-standing request from Windows 11 users. The company has released a new update within the Experimental channel of the Windows Insider Program, allowing users to now move the taskbar to any location on the screen and resize the Start Menu. With this update, Windows 11 appears to be evolving into an operating system that offers greater customization and flexibility than ever before.

Until now, the taskbar in Windows 11 has been confined solely to the bottom of the screen. Many users were dissatisfied with this limited option, as older versions of Windows provided the ability to position the taskbar at the top, left, or right side of the screen. Responding to this specific demand from users, Microsoft has now brought back the "movable taskbar" feature.

**Now You Can Place the Taskbar Anywhere on the Screen**
With the new Experimental build, users can now position the taskbar in any section of the screen to suit their specific needs. This means the taskbar can now be set at the top, left, right, or bottom—essentially anywhere on the display.

This feature is expected to be particularly useful for individuals who utilize large monitors or multi-screen setups. Many professional users prefer different taskbar positions depending on their workflow, and they will now enjoy that same level of convenience within Windows 11.

Microsoft states that its objective is to make Windows 11 more user-friendly and personalized, enabling every individual to configure the interface according to their own preferences.

**How to Change the Taskbar Position in Windows 11**
Using the new settings is quite simple. Users must first open the **Settings** app. Next, they need to navigate to the **Personalization** section and then select the **Taskbar** option. Within the **Taskbar Behaviors** section, users can adjust the taskbar's position to their liking.

Users can now choose to place the taskbar at the top of the screen, or—much like in older versions of Windows—position it on the left side. Additionally, an option has been provided to change the alignment of the taskbar icons. This allows users to customize how their app icons appear on the taskbar, further tailoring the interface to their specific requirements.

You Can Now Resize the Start Menu
The second major feature of this update is the resizable Start Menu. Users can now make the Start Menu larger or smaller. Previously, the size of the Start Menu was fixed; however, it can now be adjusted to suit your screen size and workflow.

If a user wishes to view more apps simultaneously, they can expand the Start Menu. Conversely, users with smaller screens can opt for a more compact layout.

To resize the Start Menu, users simply need to open it and drag its edges to increase or decrease its dimensions.

Microsoft has added even more controls within the Start Menu. Users can now individually show or hide the 'Pinned', 'Recent', and 'All' sections. This makes the Start Menu appear cleaner and more organized.

The company has renamed the 'Recommended' section to 'Recent'. According to Microsoft, this new name more accurately reflects the content displayed in that section, as it features recently used apps and files.
