There is big news for Paytm users: the company has rolled out two new features for its users. The first useful feature is Biometric Authentication for UPI Payments, and the second is Cardless ATM Withdrawals. Both of these are practical features that will prove useful in your day-to-day usage. Let's take a detailed look at both features, one by one.

**UPI Payments Biometric Authentication**
The addition of this new feature to the app offers you a significant advantage: you will no longer need to enter your UPI PIN while making UPI payments. Instead, you can use Face ID or a fingerprint scan to verify the transaction and complete the payment with ease. To put it simply: imagine you scan a merchant's QR code and enter the payment amount. Currently, the next step requires you to enter your UPI PIN; however, with the arrival of this new feature—once you have set it up—you will be prompted to perform a face scan or fingerprint scan instead of entering a PIN. For instance, if you have enabled the fingerprint option, simply placing your finger on the fingerprint sensor will instantly complete your payment as soon as your finger is scanned.

Paytm has confirmed that the biometric authentication feature works on both Android fingerprint sensors and iOS Face ID. The company has provided assurances that neither Paytm nor the bank stores or accesses any biometric data, thereby ensuring the privacy and security of its users. In accordance with NPCI guidelines, biometric UPI payments will be capped at a transaction limit of ₹5,000. The company also clarified that the traditional UPI PIN option will remain available for users who prefer that method.

**How to Enable the Biometric Feature on Paytm**
Enabling this feature on Paytm is a simple process. Open the app and tap on the Profile icon located on the left side. Go to Settings and select 'Pay with Fingerprint' or 'Pay with Face ID'.
Next, select the bank account for which you wish to enable the biometric feature.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the authentication setup.

Meanwhile, the Cardless ATM Withdrawal feature allows users to withdraw cash directly from the Paytm app without needing a physical ATM card. This latest update from Paytm follows the Reserve Bank of India's new two-factor authentication regulations, which came into effect on April 1st. These regulations apply to all forms of digital payments, including UPI, cards, and wallets.

**How to Withdraw Money from an ATM Without a Card**
Paytm users can now withdraw cash from ATMs without a physical card. To utilize this feature, the user's bank account must be linked to their Paytm UPI. At the ATM, users must select the 'UPI Cash Withdrawal' option, enter the desired withdrawal amount, and then use the Paytm app to scan the QR code displayed on the screen. After verifying their UPI PIN, the ATM will dispense the cash, and a confirmation notification will immediately appear on the app. It is important to note that the withdrawal limit per transaction is capped at ₹10,000.
