Therefore, all users are now being asked to add a valid payment card. However, the company also states that no money will be deducted from your card before the trial ends. If you do not wish to continue the subscription after the trial ends, you can disable auto-pay.

Nevertheless, many users are unhappy with this change. They argue that changing the terms and conditions midway is unfair, especially since the offer was initially presented without any conditions. Some are also concerned about their privacy, as adding card details gives the company more information. This is why many users are deciding to end their free trial immediately.

If you wish to continue the free trial, the process is simple. Click on the "Update card information" button in the email from Perplexity, enter your debit or credit card details, and update them. After that, you will be able to use Perplexity Pro as before.

The Perplexity Pro offer includes features like GPT-4.1, Gemini, and Claude AI models, unlimited searches, document analysis, and AI image generation, which are reportedly worth around ₹17,000. However, after this new change, many users may switch to other free AI options like Google Gemini and ChatGPT.
