Meta Platforms has launched new AI-powered smart glasses in collaboration with the major eyewear manufacturer EssilorLuxottica. Named "Meta Glasses," they are based on the company's existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta wearable lineups but feature new designs. Meta has introduced three frame styles, including a special Kylie Jenner edition. The glasses are powered by the company's Muse Spark AI model, which reportedly enables advanced multimodal interactions, live translation, hands-free photography, and context-aware assistance.

**Meta Glasses: Price and Availability**

Meta Glasses start at $299 (approximately ₹28,000). They are available for purchase starting today via Meta's website, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, Best Buy, Amazon, and select retail partners worldwide.

The smart glasses come in three designs and a variety of finishes, including Classic Black, Classic Tortoise, Racing Green, Linen, Merlot, Mahogany, and Sandstone. Buyers can choose from clear, sun, Transitions, and polarized lens options. The company states that a total of 26 style combinations are available.

These glasses support prescription lenses ranging from -12 to +2.25. The company has also launched a new "Rx Lens Swap" program, allowing users to have prescription lenses fitted by an optician of their choice without voiding the warranty.

Initially, Meta Glasses will be sold in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US. The company has not yet announced details regarding its availability in the Indian market. Meta Glasses Features and Specifications
Like other wearables in the company's lineup, the Meta Glasses feature the Meta AI assistant for hands-free use. However, it now runs on Muse Spark—a flagship, natively multimodal reasoning and agentic AI model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. It is claimed to enable users to ask context-aware questions about what they are seeing, receive suggestions, manage schedules, and access information hands-free.

A dedicated button is provided to activate the Meta AI assistant or trigger custom functions. For audio, the glasses feature open-ear speakers with adaptive volume support. The wearable device incorporates a six-microphone system, with two microphones located on the nose pads, two on the temple arms, and two on the front frame. It also includes wind noise reduction technology, which helps capture audio more clearly during calls and AI interactions.

Much like the Ray-Ban Meta, the Meta Glasses feature a 12-megapixel camera with a 100-degree field of view (FoV). The company states that users can capture photos with a resolution of up to 3,024 x 4,032 pixels and record videos at up to 3K resolution at 30fps. The camera also supports 1080p recording at up to 60 fps and 720p recording at up to 120 fps, alongside features such as hyperlapse and slow-motion video capture. Meta's new "Dynamic Photo" feature is claimed to capture multiple frames of a moment and then suggest the best shot. The company states that it will introduce future software updates enabling pedestrian navigation with turn-by-turn directions that do not require a display.

Meta Glasses support live translation in 20 languages, including Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, and Portuguese. The company is also bringing support for 14 additional languages through upcoming updates. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 with tri-band support (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and support for Meta's neural band accessories via Bluetooth 5.2.
