Candidates' answer sheets to be published on website for transparency
This recruitment process has been started after the 2016 teacher recruitment scam, in which the Supreme Court had cancelled the appointments of 25,753 teachers and non-teaching staff. The court had taken this decision due to rigging and irregularities in the recruitment process. This time, WBSSC has decided to publish the evaluated answer sheets of the candidates called for interview on the website to ensure transparency. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has described this recruitment as an important step towards improving the education sector and meeting the shortage of teachers. She has also assured that the teachers whose appointments were cancelled will get full opportunity to join the new process.
