For the post of Associate Professor, a PhD in the relevant subject, a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks, and eight years of teaching or research experience are mandatory. Additionally, candidates must have published at least seven research papers and possess a research score of 75.

For serial numbers 06 and 07, traditional or professional artists with eight years of experience in the relevant field are also eligible. An 'A' grade from AIR or Doordarshan and the ability to teach the subject are required.

**Eligibility for Assistant Professor**
For the post of Assistant Professor, candidates must hold a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks and have qualified for the UGC/CSIR NET or SLET/SET. Candidates holding a PhD may be exempted from the NET requirement, subject to the applicable regulations. Candidates holding a PhD from a recognized top-500 foreign university may also be eligible.

For serial numbers 11 to 14, a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with 55% marks and NET/SLET/SET qualification—or a PhD as per regulations—is mandatory. Traditional or professional artists with notable achievements in the relevant field may also be eligible.

**Selection based on merit**
If a large number of applications are received by Visva-Bharati, candidates will be shortlisted for interviews based on qualifications and experience. If necessary, the number of candidates may be limited to a 1:15 ratio. Shortlisting will be based on academic and research scores determined under the UGC Regulations, 2018.

Final selection will be based on performance in the interview. The academic documents, past service records, and other credentials of selected candidates will be verified. Police verification will also be conducted either before or after joining.
