UPSSSC has issued the official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Statistical Officers (ASO) and Assistant Research Officers (ARO). Only those candidates who have appeared for the Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test (UPPET) 2025 are eligible to apply for these positions. However, in addition to this, candidates must also possess the specific qualifications prescribed for the respective posts. UPSSSC has released the ASO-ARO recruitment notification after a gap of six years; the recruitment process was last conducted in 2019.

The online application process is scheduled to commence on April 21, 2026. Applications can be submitted online by visiting the official website, upsssc.gov.in. Candidates aged between 21 and 40 years (with age relaxations applicable for reserved categories) may apply until May 11.

Who Can Apply?
Only candidates who have secured a valid score in the UPPET 2025 are eligible to apply for the ARO-ASO Recruitment 2026. Regarding the prescribed educational criteria, candidates must hold a Postgraduate (PG) degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline. Additionally, candidates are required to possess an ‘O’ Level Computer Diploma and demonstrate proficiency (good speed) in Hindi typing.

How Will the Selection Be Conducted?
As per the prescribed selection process for the ARO-ASO Recruitment 2026, the procedure will be conducted in distinct phases. Candidates who apply in the first phase will be shortlisted based on their UPTET 2025 scores. In the second phase, a written examination worth 100 marks will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates. A merit list will be prepared based on this examination.

Regarding the syllabus and pattern of the written examination, it will consist of 100 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. All questions will be of the multiple-choice type. As per the syllabus, the paper will be divided into three sections: the first section will carry 75 marks, while the second and third sections will carry 15 marks and 20 marks, respectively.
