UPSC has announced recruitment for several positions, including Scientist-B and Assistant Professor. Interested candidates may apply online at upsc.gov.in until May 15.

This presents an excellent opportunity for young aspirants preparing for government jobs. UPSC has released the official recruitment notification for these vacancies. Under this recruitment drive, candidates will be selected for positions such as Scientist-B, Scientific Officer, Assistant Professor, and others. A total of 5 appointments will be made through this recruitment campaign. These include 1 post for Scientist-B, 1 post for Scientific Officer, 2 posts for Superintending Archaeological Engineer, and 1 post for Assistant Professor.

What are the Eligibility Criteria?

For Scientist-B: If you hold an M.Sc. degree in Physics, you must possess at least 1 year of relevant work experience. If you hold a B.E./B.Tech. A degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, and 2 years of work experience is mandatory.
For Scientific Officer: If you hold an M.Sc. degree in Physics, or a B.E./B.Tech. degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, you must possess at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
For Superintending Archaeological Engineer: A B.E./B.Tech. A degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory, along with 8 years of relevant work experience.
For Assistant Professor: An M.E./M.Tech. A degree in Civil Engineering is required.

Age Limit

For this recruitment, the maximum age limit for candidates has been set at 40 years. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories—such as SC, ST, OBC, and others—will be granted age relaxation in accordance with government regulations.

Application Fee

To apply, candidates belonging to the General Category are required to pay a fee of ₹25. Conversely, the application process is completely free of cost for candidates belonging to SC/ST, PWD, and Women categories.

What will be the Salary?

Candidates selected for these positions will receive a salary in accordance with the 7th Pay Commission, with monthly earnings ranging approximately from ₹30,000 to ₹1,20,000.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for this recruitment drive will be conducted in two stages. First, a CRT (Computer-based Recruitment Test) will be held. This will be a written examination designed to assess the candidates’ aptitude. Subsequently, a written examination will be conducted, following which successful candidates will be called for an interview. A final merit list will be prepared based on the candidates’ performance in the interview. Selected candidates will be appointed to their respective positions.
