UPPSC RO ARO Notification 2026: Notification for 428 RO/ARO posts coming soon; check details..
There is good news for young people preparing for government jobs in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is preparing to soon release the notification for the 2026 recruitment of Review Officers (RO) and Assistant Review Officers (ARO). The Commission has received details regarding vacant posts from various government departments, and the process of issuing the advertisement has reached its final stage. Recruitment is currently expected for 428 posts. Additionally, administrative hurdles in the recruitment process have been resolved following the implementation of new rules regarding the CM Fellowship.
**Recruitment for 428 Posts; Requisitions Received from Departments**
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has received information about vacancies for RO and ARO posts from various departments. The highest number of posts has been reported by the Uttar Pradesh Secretariat, which has submitted a total of 359 vacancies, comprising 92 posts for Review Officers and 267 for Assistant Review Officers. Furthermore, the Board of Revenue has sent a requisition for 69 posts. Thus, preparations for recruiting a total of 428 candidates are considered complete. The Commission is now finalizing the process to issue the official notification based on these vacancies.
**Hurdle Cleared with Implementation of CM Fellowship Rules**
The advertisement for the RO/ARO recruitment had been stalled for some time. The delay was due to pending new regulations regarding age relaxation and additional weightage for researchers under the CM Fellowship scheme. The government has now approved these rules, and the new system has been implemented. The notification for PCS 2026 was also issued on June 25 based on this framework. Consequently, all administrative and legal obstacles hindering the RO/ARO recruitment—as well as other recruitment drives—have been removed.
**Application Record May Be Broken Again**
In the previous recruitment drive, 1,076,004 candidates applied for 419 posts, marking the highest number of applications for a single recruitment in the Commission's history. The final results for the 2023 recruitment were declared on April 5, 2026. It is expected that a large number of candidates will apply this time as well, and the competition is likely to remain very tough, just as before.
