The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of 12,405 Primary Assistant Teachers. Who can apply?
For the post of Urban Primary Assistant Teacher, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Additionally, a recognized teacher training qualification—such as BTC, D.El.Ed., Special BTC, BTC (Urdu), a Diploma in Special Education, B.Ed.Ed, or a Diploma in Elementary Education—is mandatory. Passing the TET is also a compulsory requirement.
For the post of Assistant Teacher in an Associated Primary (Aided) School, a bachelor's degree from a recognized university or institution is required. Candidates must possess an NCTE-recognized BTC or D.El.Ed qualification. Furthermore, passing the TET for Classes 1 to 5 is mandatory.
Age Limit Rules?
The age limit will be determined as of July 1, 2026. For the Urban Primary Assistant Teacher post, the minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 40 years. For the Associated Primary Assistant Teacher post, the minimum age is 21 years, and the retirement age is set at 62 years. For the urban post, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) of Uttar Pradesh will be granted a 5-year relaxation in the maximum age limit.
Salary Details
Candidates selected for the UPESSC Assistant Teacher post will receive a salary in accordance with Level-6. The pay scale for both Primary (Urban) and Associated Primary posts ranges from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400. Additionally, other allowances applicable under the rules may also be provided.
Application Fee of ₹500
To apply for the UPESSC Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026, candidates belonging to General, Unreserved, OBC, EWS, and other categories must pay an application fee of ₹1,000. The fee for SC and ST category candidates is ₹500, while PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates are required to pay a fee of ₹300.
