UP Teacher Recruitment: Application date changed for 1262 posts, process to begin on November 24
Due to server issues, the application portal was unable to function properly on time. This forced the department to revise the application timetable. Candidates will now be able to complete the application process according to the new dates.
An important update has been released for candidates awaiting recruitment for headmasters and assistant teachers in government-aided (aided) junior high schools in Uttar Pradesh. The previously scheduled online application dates have been changed due to technical difficulties. Server issues prevented the application portal from functioning properly on time, forcing the department to revise the application timetable. Candidates will now be able to complete their application process according to the new dates, providing adequate time and convenience for all candidates. This change is a welcome relief for millions of young people who have been waiting for the recruitment process to begin for the past several months.
Why were the application dates changed?
The revised results of the Junior High School Principal and Assistant Teacher Selection Examination 2021 were released on September 6, 2022. Based on these results, online applications for selection and appointment were to be made from November 15 to December 5, 2025. However, due to repeated technical problems with the server, the application process had to be halted. This is why the Secondary Education Department has decided to extend the application date.
How many posts will be filled?
A total of 1,262 posts are available for direct recruitment in the state's non-government-aided (aided) secondary schools. These include 240 posts for Hindi, 145 for English, 99 for Sanskrit, 455 for Science and Math, and 314 for Social Science. The recruitment process will be conducted for a total of 1,262 posts across these subjects. This recruitment process will play an important role in addressing the long-standing staff shortage in aided schools across the state.
Details of positions likely to become vacant by 2026 were also sought.
The Secondary Education Department has also asked all districts in the state to submit information regarding potential positions likely to become vacant by March 31, 2026, as soon as possible. This will enable accurate requisitions for future recruitments and ensure timely completion of the recruitment process.
Director of Secondary Education, Dr. Mahendra Dev, has directed that it is crucial to provide accurate and complete information on vacant positions to the Selection Commission in a timely manner. He also stated that it is essential to submit a certificate confirming the inclusion of all direct recruitment positions in the requisition within two days. This will ensure transparency and discipline in the recruitment process.
