UP Teacher Bharti: Bumper recruitment in aided schools of UP, 23 thousand posts of teacher-principals vacant..
A major recruitment drive for teachers is imminent in aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh. Thousands of vacant positions for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), Lecturers (PGTs), Headmasters, and Principals remain vacant across the state. The Directorate of Education has collected information on these vacancies and is now preparing to submit them to the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission. Once the recruitment process is complete, long-standing vacant positions in schools across the state will be filled, which is expected to improve teaching.
Preparations for Recruitment for Over 23,000 Posts
Direct recruitment will be conducted for over 23,000 positions for TGTs, PGTs, Headmasters, and Principals in 4,512 aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh. The Education Department had sought requisitions for anticipated vacancies by March 31, 2026. Instructions were issued by July 29. All districts, except Ghazipur, have submitted their information. So far, the survey has been completed in 71 districts, with 22,201 vacant positions identified. When information from the remaining four districts is included, the total number of posts is expected to exceed 23,000.
The Directorate of Education stated that detailed information on all vacant positions will be uploaded to the Selection Commission's portal once it is ready. Deputy Director of Education (Secondary-3), Dr. Brajesh Mishra, stated that the DIOS has been instructed to ensure that only actual vacancies are included in the requisition.
The government has also directed the immediate cancellation of affiliation orders issued without permission and the return of the concerned employees to their original postings. After the recruitment process is complete, the teacher shortage in schools will be largely alleviated.
