UP Police SI Selection Process: Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) has issued a notification for recruitment to a total of 4543 posts under UP Police Sub Inspector (SI) Recruitment 2025. The process of online registration to join this recruitment has started from 12 August 2025, and candidates can apply till 11 September 2025. UP SI Selection Process: Selection Process
1. Written Exam
Talking about the written exam, it will be a total of 400 marks, in which a total of 160 questions will be asked of the candidates. The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes, i.e., 2 hours. The question paper is divided into four major subjects - General Hindi, Constitution, Fundamental Law and General Knowledge, Numerical and Mental Ability, and Logical Ability and Mental Aptitude. This exam will be conducted in online mode, and the special thing is that there will be no negative marking, which will give additional convenience to the candidates in answering.

2. Document Verification and Physical Standard Test
The candidates who are successful in the written examination are tested for physical abilities under document verification and Physical Standard Test (PST). For male candidates (General/OBC/SC category), the minimum height must be 163 cm, while the chest should be 79 cm without inflation and 84 cm after inflation. Whereas, for men of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, the minimum height is 156 cm, and the chest is 77 cm (without inflation) and 82 cm (after inflation).
For female candidates (General/OBC/SC category), the minimum height should be 152 cm, while for women of the ST category, this standard is 147 cm. The minimum weight of all female candidates must be 40 kg. All these criteria have to be fulfilled compulsorily in the recruitment process.

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is an important stage of the recruitment process, in which the fitness of the candidates is evaluated. In this stage, male candidates have to complete a 4.8 km race in 28 minutes, while female candidates have to complete a 2.4 km race in 16 minutes. This test is only of a qualifying nature, that is, merit is not made on the basis of marks, but only passing is necessary. Therefore, it is very important for the candidates to be physically prepared so that they can pass this stage successfully.

Educational Qualification: Candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognized University in India or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by the Government.
