UP Police SI Recruitment 2025: The UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) released the results of the UP Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment 2025 written examination on May 7. Now, the UPPBPB is scheduled to conduct the physical tests for the candidates who qualified in the written examination, following which the final merit list for recruitment to the 4,543 posts will be released. Before this, the UPPBPB has clarified that only a final merit list will be issued for the UP Police SI recruitment; no waiting list will be released alongside it. The UPPBPB issued this clarification in response to inquiries made by the candidates.

Let us understand the full details of this matter. Specifically, let's find out what the UPPBPB has stated regarding the waiting list for the UP Police SI Recruitment 2025.

Recruitment to be Limited to 4,543 Posts
Regarding the UP Police SI Recruitment 2025, the UPPBPB has stated that, as part of the selection process, recruitment for the post of SI will be strictly limited to the 4,543 vacancies that were advertised. The recruitment for these posts will be conducted in strict accordance with the established rules and regulations. Consequently, no waiting list will be issued to fill any subsequent vacancies that may arise within the department.

Candidates' Demand for a Waiting List
Essentially, the UPPBPB had issued an advertisement for the recruitment of 4,543 Sub-Inspectors under the UP Police SI Recruitment 2025 drive. Following the completion of the application process, a written examination was conducted. The results of the written examination were declared on May 7, revealing that 12,333 candidates had qualified to proceed to the physical tests for the SI recruitment. In adherence to the regulations, the UPPBPB qualified several candidates equivalent to 2.7 times the total number of available vacancies in the written examination. Now, these 12,333 candidates who cleared the written exam are scheduled to participate in the physical tests proposed for the month of June. Concurrently, the document verification process will also be conducted for these candidates.

In this context, the UPPBPB has declared 12,333 candidates successful in the written examination for the recruitment of 4,543 posts—a development that has raised various questions in the minds of the candidates. Given that the number of candidates declared successful is two-and-a-half times the number of available posts, candidates were speculating that the UPPBPB might potentially release a waiting list for future recruitment; however, the UPPBPB has dismissed this possibility.
