UP Police Recruitment for 176 Posts; Only These Candidates Can Apply

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has begun the recruitment process for 176 Chief Constable (Motor Transport) positions in the Motor Transport Branch. Applications for this recruitment will only be accepted from employees currently serving as Constable Drivers or Chief Constable Drivers in the UP Police.

This recruitment is only for employees currently posted as Drivers in various districts, units, and PAC battalions. External candidates or new applicants are not eligible.

How will the selection process be conducted?

First Stage – Written Examination

This examination will carry a total of 70 marks. Only candidates currently serving as Constable Drivers or Head Constable Drivers are eligible to appear for this exam.

Second Stage – Practical Technical Knowledge Test

Only those candidates who successfully pass the first stage will be eligible to participate. This exam will carry 50 marks and will test candidates' technical understanding and driving skills.

After completing both stages, candidates' service records will also be evaluated. Marks will be awarded based on their tenure and experience as per the service rules. The final selection list will be prepared based on these marks and qualifications.

When and where will the exam be held?

The written examination for the UP Police Head Constable (Motor Transport) Recruitment 2025 will be held on October 5, 2025. The exam venue is Lucknow University (Old Campus), University Road, Badshahbagh, near Hanuman Setu, Lucknow – 226007.

How to obtain the admit card?

Admit cards for this recruitment exam will be released on the UPPRPB's official website, uppbpb.gov.in. Candidates will be able to download them using their login ID and password.

Medical Test Required

All candidates will undergo a medical test at the end of the selection process. Passing this test is mandatory. If a candidate fails the medical test, their candidacy will be cancelled.

Application Process

The application process for this recruitment will be completed through the Technical Services Circular. Since this is a departmental examination only, the application process will be based on an internal process. Interested candidates must follow the instructions provided by the Board.
