UP Police Recruitment: The drive to fill government vacancies in Uttar Pradesh continues in full swing. As part of this initiative, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath handed over appointment letters to 912 selected police department candidates during a ceremony held on Sunday at Lok Bhawan in the state capital, Lucknow. Several ministers, including Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, and senior officials were present at the event.

What did CM Yogi say while distributing the appointment letters?

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the transparency of the recruitment process. He noted that prior to 2017, there was an atmosphere of disappointment and mistrust among the youth regarding recruitment procedures, with complaints of nepotism and irregularities being commonplace.

The Chief Minister stated that changes were made to the recruitment process after his government took office. The interview requirement for Group-C and Group-D posts was abolished. According to him, this step was taken to enhance transparency, as complaints regarding irregularities during interviews used to surface.

Same posts, changed work culture.

CM Yogi remarked that while the government posts remain the same as before, the work culture has evolved. He emphasized that the government did not bring in personnel from other states or districts to carry out the work; instead, the existing system was made more accountable.

It is worth noting that the candidates who received appointment letters were selected by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. These candidates have been appointed to the posts of Sub-Inspector (Confidential), Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk), and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts) within the police department.
