This process will be executed in phases by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. Notifications for various posts—detailing vacancies, eligibility criteria, age limits, application dates, and other essential information—will be released on the Board’s official website. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stated that the recruitment process will be completely fair and transparent, noting that this drive will provide employment to thousands of youths. It is worth noting that the state government had previously made an announcement regarding this recruitment process in April.
Eligibility for UP Police Recruitment and Posts
Appointments will be made for various positions within the police department under this recruitment drive. These include roles such as Constable, Sub-Inspector, Jail Warder, Radio Cadre personnel, Computer Operator/Clerk, as well as various technical and ministerial posts. Educational qualifications will vary according to the specific post; candidates who have passed Class 12 can apply for Constable positions, whereas graduation is mandatory for Sub-Inspector roles. For certain technical and computer-based posts, candidates may be required to possess computer-related certificates or specialized qualifications in addition to their Class 12 education. Candidates are advised to carefully review the official notification for the specific post before applying.
What is the selection process?
The UP Police recruitment process will begin with a computer-based examination. The test will include questions on General Knowledge, General Hindi, Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Numerical Ability, and Current Affairs. Candidates applying for Sub-Inspector posts will also face questions related to law and the Constitution. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the Physical Standard Test, where parameters such as height, chest measurements, and other physical standards will be assessed. Subsequently, candidates must undergo a Physical Efficiency Test, which will evaluate physical fitness through activities such as running. In the final stage, eligible candidates will be selected following document verification and a medical examination.
Online Application Process
The application process for this recruitment drive will be conducted entirely online. Once the application window opens, candidates can visit the official UPPRPB website to read the recruitment notification. Registration must then be completed using a mobile number and email ID; for certain recruitments, a ‘One-Time Registration’ process may also be required. After registering, candidates must fill in personal, educational, and other necessary details in the application form. Following the upload of photographs, signatures, and required documents in the prescribed format, the application fee must be paid according to the candidate’s category. Finally, before submitting the form, candidates can review all details and take a printout.
