The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has issued an official notification for the recruitment of 2,607 Lecturers (PGT). The online application process for this recruitment will commence on September 18, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply until October 17, 2026. What is the educational qualification?
For most subjects: A postgraduate degree in the relevant subject and a B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution is required.
For Music (Vocal/Instrumental): A postgraduate degree in music or a bachelor's degree with specialization in vocal/instrumental music, along with a B.Ed., is required. For Physical Education: A bachelor's degree and an M.P.Ed. (Master of Physical Education) from a recognized university are required.
For Art: A diploma in Fine Arts (including drawing) from a recognized art institute and a B.Ed. degree are required. For most subjects, the relevant degree must be obtained from a recognized university or institute.
What is the salary?
Selected candidates for the post of Lecturer will receive a salary under Level-8. The pay scale ranges from ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100. Additionally, other allowances may be provided as per the rules.
Application Fee
Candidates belonging to the General, Unreserved, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹1,500. The fee is ₹750 for SC and ST categories, while the fee for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates is set at ₹500.
How will the selection take place?
Selection for the post of Lecturer in government-aided schools will be based on a total of 400 marks. This includes a written examination worth 360 marks, consisting of 120 objective-type questions. Additionally, there will be an interview worth 40 marks. A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the written examination and the interview.
