The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released a recruitment notification for 7994 vacant Lekhpal (Revenue Officer) positions. Applications started on December 29th. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for Lekhpal posts can complete the application process online through the official UPSSSC website, upsssc.gov.in. The last date to fill out the form is January 28, 2026.

Eligibility and Criteria
To apply for Lekhpal posts, candidates must have a valid score card from the Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test (UP PET). In addition, candidates must have completed Intermediate (12th grade) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board/institution. The minimum age of the candidate should not be less than 18 years and the maximum age should not be more than 40 years. Age relaxation will be given to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per rules.

Application Process

To fill out the form, candidates need to visit the official website, go to the Applicant's Dashboard, and log in using their UP PET 2025 registration number to check their application status. Alternatively, candidates can print the form and log in using their Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025 registration number on the Applicant's Dashboard under the Applicant Segment.
After logging in, the candidate will have to click on the "Modify Application" button displayed next to the relevant advertisement and enter the verification code. An OTP (One Time Password) will then be sent to the candidate's registered mobile number/email. Upon submitting this OTP, the candidate's filled-in form will be displayed. Candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs. 25 along with filling out the application form. The fee can be paid online. For detailed information related to the recruitment, candidates are advised to carefully review the official notification.

Changes in OBC Posts
In the notification previously issued by UPSSSC, 1,441 posts were reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC), which has now been increased to 2158.  The category-wise distribution of posts is now as follows: 3205 posts for the Unreserved category, 1679 posts for Scheduled Castes, 160 posts for Scheduled Tribes, 2158 posts for Other Backward Classes, and 792 posts for Economically Weaker Sections. Out of the total posts, 1,592 posts will be separately reserved for female candidates.
