UP Lekhpal Recruitment Notification Released: Over 7,000 Posts Available, Direct Recruitment – Know All the Details

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the notification for the recruitment of 7,994 Revenue Lekhpal posts. Only candidates who have appeared for the PET 2025 exam will be eligible to apply.
Online applications for the Lekhpal recruitment will begin on December 29, 2025, while the last date for application is January 28, 2026. Corrections to the application can be made until February 4, 2026. The application process will be entirely online, and candidates will need to visit the commission's official website, upsssc.gov.in.
Shortlisting Based on PET 2025 Score
The most important condition for the UP Lekhpal recruitment is that the candidate must have appeared in the PET 2025 exam. The commission has clearly stated that candidates will be shortlisted based on their PET 2025 scores. Candidates who have received zero or negative marks in the PET will not be shortlisted.
Number of Posts for Each Category
A total of 7,994 posts will be filled under this recruitment. The posts are allocated to different categories: 4,165 posts for the Unreserved category, 1,446 posts for Scheduled Castes, 150 posts for Scheduled Tribes, 1,441 posts for Other Backward Classes, and 792 posts for the Economically Weaker Section. 1,592 posts have been reserved for female candidates, 391 for ex-servicemen, 152 for outstanding sportspersons, and 152 for dependents of freedom fighters. Separate posts have also been reserved for candidates with disabilities.
What are the educational qualifications?
For the UP Lekhpal recruitment, candidates must have passed Intermediate (12th grade). This examination must be passed from the UP Board or any other recognized board. Candidates must possess all the necessary educational certificates at the time of application.
What is the age limit?
The minimum age for Lekhpal recruitment is 18 years and the maximum age is 40 years. Reserved categories such as SC, ST, and other eligible categories will be given relaxation in the upper age limit as per government rules.

Selection process and exam pattern
Selection for the UP Lekhpal recruitment will be based on a written examination. The written examination will consist of 100 questions, carrying 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours, and all questions will be objective type. Negative marking will also be applicable in this examination. The commission will use a normalization formula to prepare the final merit list.
What is the exam syllabus?
The written examination will include questions related to Indian History, the Freedom Movement, the Indian Constitution, Geography, Economy, Social Development, Rural Society, and Current Affairs. In addition, there will be questions on General Hindi, Computer Knowledge, Data Interpretation, Environment and Disaster Management, and general knowledge related to Uttar Pradesh. Subjects related to Uttar Pradesh will be given special importance.
What will be the salary?
Candidates selected for the UP Lekhpal post will receive a salary ranging from Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100. They will also be entitled to other government allowances.
