What are the Eligibility Criteria for an Assistant Boring Technician?
Candidates must have passed the High School (10th Grade) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh, or any other examination recognized as equivalent to it by the government.
Candidates must possess a certificate in the 'Tube-well Mechanic' course issued by the Government Technical Centre or the Government Industrial Training Centre (ITI) located at Lal Diggi Park, Gorakhpur, or hold any other certificate recognized as equivalent to it by the government. OR
Possess a minimum two-year Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate—issued by the State of Uttar Pradesh or an Industrial Training Institute—in any of the following trades: Machinist, Fitter, Wireman, or Turner; OR possess a three-year National Apprenticeship Certificate issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Government of India.
The candidate must have appeared for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2025) conducted by the UPSSSC. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their performance in this test.
As of July 1, 2026, the candidate must have attained a minimum age of 18 years but must not have exceeded 40 years of age. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit as per applicable rules.

Next, enter details regarding your educational qualifications, including the name of the Board/Institution/University, the year of passing the examination, the Certificate Number, and your Roll Number.

The Boring Technician Main Examination will consist of 100 questions. Questions in this examination will cover topics such as an introduction to basic safety, fundamental concepts of electricity, engineering metals, systems of units, material science, mass, weight and density, speed and velocity, work, power and energy, heat and temperature, force, temperature-measuring instruments, circular motion, concepts of computers and information technology, knowledge of contemporary technological developments and innovations in this field, and general information related to the state of Uttar Pradesh. The final selection list will be prepared solely based on the Main Examination.
