UPRTOU Assistant Professor Job: Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU), Prayagraj, has invited applications for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professor. These appointments will be made on a contract basis. Interested candidates can send the application form through registered post by 18 August 2025, 5 pm. Eligibility Criteria and Experience

The educational qualifications for these posts have been prescribed as per the rules of UGC, NCTE, AICTE, RCI, and the University Act. The university has also clarified that candidates with experience in Distance Open Education may be given preference.

Information related to the interview or written examination will be sent to the candidates through email only. Apart from this, any change request in the date or time of the interview will not be considered.

Details of posts, subject-wise

Five posts each have been reserved in Computer Science and Nutrition, Food and Dietetics subjects. At the same time, three posts each will be filled in Environmental Science and Management subjects. Apart from this, two posts each are vacant in subjects like Home Science, Botany, Commerce, Social Work, Sociology, and Statistics.

Reservation system

Out of a total of 35 posts, 13 posts are unreserved, 9 posts are reserved for OBC, 8 posts for Scheduled Caste (SC), 4 posts for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and 1 post for Scheduled Tribe (ST) category candidates. The reservation system will be applicable as per the rules of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Contract posts and honorarium

All these appointments being made by Rajarshi Tandon Open University for Assistant Professor will be on a contract basis. The university administration has clarified that the selected candidates will be given a fixed honorarium of Rs 38,000 per month. This contract will be effective for a maximum period of six months.

Application fee and mode of payment
The application fee for these posts is Rs 1000. However, giving relief to the candidates of the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Divyang (PwD) categories, only Rs 500 will be charged. Application fee can be paid through two modes:
