The recruitment process for Anganwadi worker positions has commenced in 16 new districts of the state. What are the application criteria?
To apply for the Anganwadi worker position, a female candidate must have passed the 12th-grade examination from a recognized board. Additionally, women with higher qualifications—such as a bachelor's or master's degree—are also eligible to apply.
Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age. Age will be calculated as of July 1, 2026. The High School (Class 10) marksheet and certificate will be accepted as valid proof of age.
Applicants must be permanent residents of the specific Gram Sabha or urban ward from which they are applying. Applications from residents of other Gram Sabhas or wards will not be accepted.

Selection Process (No Exam)
Candidates for the Anganwadi worker position will be selected based on a merit list prepared using their Class 12 marks. There will be no written examination for this recruitment.
Preference in case of equal marks: If two or more candidates have the same marks, priority in selection will be given to women from specific categories.
Priority will first be given to widow candidates belonging to the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category. Next, an opportunity will be provided to divorced or abandoned women from the BPL category.
Subsequently, preference will be given to BPL candidates, followed by widows (APL - Above Poverty Line), divorced/abandoned women (APL), and finally APL candidates.
Required Documents
Widow candidates must submit a certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat Officer or the concerned municipal body, along with a certified copy of the family register. For divorced or abandoned women, court orders or legal decrees will be considered valid.
