What are the eligibility criteria for Government Special Teachers?
Intermediate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher (Classes 1-5): Candidates must have passed 10+2 or Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with 50 percent marks and have a two-year D.Ed. in Special Education for any category of disability. Or, they must have a one-year diploma in Special Education along with 12th standard. Candidates with a Postgraduate Diploma in Community Rehabilitation and a 6-month certificate for children with special needs can also apply. In addition, candidates must be registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India and have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the National Council for Teacher Education for classes 1 to 5.
Graduate Trained Special Education Assistant Teacher (Classes 6 to 8): Candidates must have a minimum three-year graduation degree in the relevant subject. They must also have a B.Ed. (Special Education) degree. Candidates must have a B.Ed (General) degree along with a one-year diploma in Special Education or a two-year diploma approved by the RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India). Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India and passing the JTET (Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test) are also mandatory.
Teacher Govt Jobs 2025: Age Limit
Age Limit: As of August 1, 2025, candidates must be a minimum of 21 years old and a maximum of 40 years old. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to reserved category candidates as per rules.
Salary: Intermediate-trained Special Education Assistant Teachers will receive a salary of ₹25,500/- to ₹81,100/- per month based on Level-04, and Graduate-trained Special Education Assistant Teachers will receive a salary of ₹29,200/- to ₹92,300/- per month based on Level-05.
