Teacher Bharti, Lecturers Vacancy: There is big news for those who want to become teachers and lecturers in Uttar Pradesh Inter Colleges. Now the educational qualification for these posts has been changed, under which a B.Ed degree has been made mandatory along with Post Graduation (PG). This new rule will be applicable in non-government-recognized and aided intercolleges. Special Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Government, Krishna Kumar Gupta has issued a new order in this regard, under which the old rules have been canceled.

Old order canceled, new system implemented.
The old order issued on 22 April 2025 has now been completely canceled. A new order has been implemented in its place, which has been made under the Intermediate Education Act 1921. According to this new rule, now only a post-graduation degree will not be enough to become a lecturer in intercolleges. Candidates will also have to obtain a B.Ed. Degree. This change is considered to be a big step towards improving the level of teaching.

Impact on high school biology teachers, too
The impact of this change is not limited to only lecturers of intercolleges. A new educational qualification has also been fixed for assistant teachers teaching the biology subject in high school. Now, a B.Ed. A degree, along with graduation, will be necessary for this post. Earlier, where only graduation was enough, now, by making B.Ed compulsory, the government has emphasized professional training of teachers.

Why is this change necessary?

The government keeps changing the rules from time to time to increase the quality of education. The purpose behind making the B.Ed degree compulsory is to equip teachers with better teaching techniques and an understanding of the curriculum. In the B.Ed course, teachers are given training in the method of teaching children, classroom management, and modern techniques of teaching. This will not only increase the ability of teachers, but students will also get better education.

What will be the impact on teachers and candidates?
This new rule may cause some difficulty to those candidates who were preparing to become teachers on the basis of PG or graduation only. Now they will have to spend extra time and effort to get a B.Ed degree; however this step will prove to be helpful in improving the quality of education in the long run. Especially in private and aided schools where earlier the rules were somewhat lax, now uniform and strict criteria will be applicable.
