There is good news for young aspirants dreaming of becoming government teachers. The Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission (HPRCA) has initiated the online application process to fill 600 vacant posts for Junior Basic Teachers (JBT). Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for this recruitment can apply by filling out the application form on the official HPRCA website: hprca.hp.gov.in. The deadline for submitting online applications is set for April 6, 2026.

Educational Qualification and Age Limit
To participate in the Junior Basic Teacher recruitment, candidates must have completed their Senior Secondary education along with a D.El.Ed, a 2-year JBT course, a B.El.Ed, a Diploma in Education, a B.Ed, an M.Ed, or an equivalent qualification.

As of January 1, 2026, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, and their maximum age must not exceed 45 years.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern
To be selected for this recruitment, candidates must pass a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or a Written Screening Test. The written test will consist of questions totaling 120 marks. Candidates will be allotted one and a half hours (90 minutes) to complete the question paper. All 120 questions will be of the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. Candidates who secure the prescribed cutoff marks in the examination will be appointed to the vacant posts.

Application Fee
Along with submitting the application form, candidates from all categories are required to pay a fee of ₹800. If any errors occur in the submitted form, an additional fee of ₹200 must be paid to rectify them.
