SSC Releases GD Recruitment Schedule: Check Here to See When Each Exam Will Be Held
The SSC has released the examination schedule for the GD Constable Recruitment 2026. This examination, which will be computer-based (CBE), is scheduled to commence on April 27, 2026, and will be conducted in four distinct phases extending until the end of May 2026.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has published the examination schedule for the GD Constable Recruitment 2026. This comes as welcome news for lakhs of candidates. This examination serves as the selection process for posts such as Constable within the BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, SSF, and Assam Rifles. According to official information, the SSC GD examination will run from April 27, 2026, through the end of May 2026. The examination will be conducted across four main phases/weeks: April 27–May 2, May 4–9, May 18–23, and May 25–30, 2026. Additionally, candidates will be able to visit the official website, ssc.gov.in, between April 11 and April 15, 2026, to select their preferred examination slot.
Examination Pattern and Selection Process
The examination will be a multi-stage, computer-based test (CBE). It consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), comprising a paper worth a total of 160 marks, with a time duration of 60 minutes. Following this, in the second stage, candidates who qualify in the CBT will be required to undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a Physical Standard Test (PST), and a Medical Test.

Elementary Mathematics: 20 Questions (40 Marks)

Additionally, the exam features negative marking, wherein 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
For the SSC GD Exam Educational Qualification
Any citizen of India is eligible to appear for the SSC GD examination; however, it is mandatory for candidates to have passed the 10th grade from a recognized board. Regarding the age limit, the range is set at 18 to 23 years for the General category. Furthermore, age relaxation in the upper age limit is provided—3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates—resulting in an age range of 18 to 26 years for OBCs and 18 to 28 years for SC/STs. In terms of physical standards, a minimum height of 170 cm is required for male candidates and 157 cm for female candidates, while a chest measurement of 80 cm is mandatory for male candidates.
