SSC JHT Vacancy 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the notification for the Combined Hindi Translator Examination 2026 on April 23, 2026, on its official website, ssc.gov.in. Through this recruitment drive, appointments will be made to various posts related to Hindi translation across different Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. This time, a total of 84 tentative vacancies have been announced. This presents an excellent opportunity for candidates proficient in both Hindi and English.

Who Can Apply?
Junior Level (A, B, C): Candidates must possess a Postgraduate (PG) degree in Hindi or English, with the other language included as a subject at the degree level. Additionally, a Diploma/Certificate in translation from Hindi to English and English to Hindi, or at least 2 years of relevant experience, is mandatory.

Senior Level (D): The same PG qualification is required for the Senior-level posts. Furthermore, a Diploma/Certificate in translation or at least 3 years of relevant experience is mandatory.

Age Limit: For the SSC Combined Hindi Translator Examination 2026, candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age. The age will be calculated as of August 1, 2026. To be eligible, a candidate must not have been born before August 2, 1996, or after August 1, 2008. Additionally, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit in accordance with the rules of the Government of India.

What Will Be the Exam Pattern?
This SSC examination will consist of two papers. The first paper (Paper-I) will be computer-based and will comprise objective-type questions, while the second paper (Paper-II) will be descriptive in nature. Candidates will be shortlisted category-wise for Paper-II based on the marks secured in Paper-I.

In Paper-I, a negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applicable for every incorrect answer; therefore, candidates are advised to answer with caution. For the final selection, performance in both Paper-I and Paper-II will be taken into consideration, with a weightage of 50% assigned to the marks obtained in Paper-I and 100% to the marks obtained in Paper-II. Additionally, separate category-wise cut-offs may be prescribed for both papers.
