This recruitment drive also includes filling posts for Scientific Assistants in the Meteorological Department. Selected candidates will be appointed to Group B posts under Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a pay scale ranging from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400.

SSC JE 2026: Who can apply?
Junior Engineer (Civil): Candidates must hold a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
Junior Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical): Candidates must hold a degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Junior Engineer (Telecom), DoT: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunication, IT, or Instrumentation.
Scientific Assistant (IMD): Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics, or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Electronics/IT/Telecommunication Engineering.
What is the age limit?
For most posts, the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 30 years; for posts under the CPWD and the Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships, the maximum age limit is 32 years. Age will be calculated as of August 1, 2026 (01.08.2026).
