Before this, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) had issued an important notice for all candidates on its official website ssc.gov.in. In this notice, the SSC has stated that "Candidates for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026 should submit their online applications well before the last date, i.e., December 31, 2025. Do not wait until the last date to avoid the possibility of website connection issues/login failures due to increased traffic on the website in the last few days. Candidates are also warned that the last date for submission of applications will not be extended under any circumstances."

Eligibility for SSC GD Recruitment?
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed at least the 10th class from any recognized board.
Age Limit: As of January 1, 2026, candidates must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 23 years old. According to the date of birth, the candidate's birth date should not be before January 2, 2003, and not after January 1, 2008. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will get age relaxation as per the rules.
Height: The height of male candidates should be 170 cm and that of female candidates should be 157 cm. Male candidates' chest measurement should be 80 cm with an expansion of 5 cm.
Selection Process: The selection of candidates for GD Constable will be done through a written examination, document verification, physical test, and medical examination.
