SSC CGL 2026: Recruitment for Income Tax Inspector Post; Salary up to ₹1.51 Lakh; Great Opportunity for Graduates

An opportunity has arisen for recruitment to the post of Income Tax Inspector through the SSC CGL 2026 examination. Graduate candidates can apply online via the website ssc.gov.in until June 22.

There is good news for young people preparing for government jobs. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has initiated the recruitment process for several prestigious posts, including Income Tax Inspector, through the SSC CGL 2026 exam. Candidates selected through this recruitment drive will have the opportunity to work in the Income Tax Department under the Central Government.

Recruitment for various central departments will be conducted through SSC CGL 2026. Among these, the post of Income Tax Inspector within the Income Tax Department is one of the most prominent roles. Candidates selected for this position are responsible for investigating tax-related matters, verifying documents, and handling departmental tasks.

The age limit for candidates applying for the Income Tax Inspector post is set at a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 30 years. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with Central Government rules.

To apply for this recruitment, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree (graduation) from a recognized university. Candidates who have graduated in any discipline are eligible to apply for SSC CGL 2026.

Candidate selection will be based on the SSC CGL examination. Initially, the Tier 1 exam will be conducted. Subsequently, successful candidates will have to appear for the Tier 2 exam. A merit list will be prepared based on performance in both stages. In the final stage, eligible candidates will be appointed following document verification.

Candidates selected for the post of Income Tax Inspector will receive a salary under Pay Level 8. The starting salary is ₹47,600 per month, which can go up to ₹1.51 lakh per month. Additionally, benefits such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), and other government perks will be provided.

Candidates should first visit the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in. After this, complete the OTR. Then, click on the SSC CGL 2026 application link and fill in the required details. Upload the documents, submit the form after verifying all the information, and keep a printout safe for future reference.
