South Central Railway Recruitment: Recruitment Announced for Over 2,800 Posts in the Railways—Apply by April 11!

South Central Railway has issued a major recruitment notification for Apprentice positions. Under this recruitment drive, a total of 2,801 candidates will be appointed to various posts. Candidates from across the country are eligible to apply. This is considered an excellent opportunity for young aspirants who dream of working in the Indian Railways. In this South Central Railway recruitment drive, a total of 2,801 Apprentice posts across various trades will be filled. These trades include Electrician, Fitter, Welder, AC Mechanic, COPA, and several other technical disciplines. The highest number of vacancies has been allocated to the Electrician and Fitter trades.

To apply for these positions, candidates must have passed the 10th or 12th grade from a recognized board. Additionally, possession of an ITI certificate in the relevant trade is mandatory. Candidates who have completed their ITI in a technical trade can easily apply for this recruitment.

For this recruitment, the minimum age limit for candidates has been set at 15 years, and the maximum age limit at 24 years. The age will be calculated as of March 23, 2026. Furthermore, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with government regulations. OBC candidates will receive a relaxation of 3 years, while SC/ST candidates will receive a relaxation of 5 years.

To apply, candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. However, for SC, ST, and female candidates, the application process is completely free of cost. The application fee can be paid online using a Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.

Candidates applying for this recruitment will not be required to appear for any written examination or interview. Selection will be based entirely on merit. The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the 10th standard and ITI examinations. Subsequently, document verification will be conducted for the selected candidates.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend ranging from approximately ₹10,500 to ₹15,000 during the apprenticeship period. This training phase is designed to provide candidates with technical experience, which may assist them in securing employment in the railways and other sectors in the future.
