SLPRB Vacancy 2025: The Assam State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) has released a notification for the Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment 2025. A total of 147 vacancies will be filled across various police and allied departments under this recruitment drive. This recruitment is for positions in the Assam Police, Assam Police Radio Organisation (APRO), Fire and Emergency Services, and the Jail Department.

Educational qualifications vary depending on the post:
Assistant Sub-Inspector (Unarmed and Armed Branch): Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or an equivalent subject from a recognized university.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (Communication): A B.Sc. degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related subject is required, along with relevant technical knowledge.
Station Officer and Squad Commander: A B.Sc. degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is necessary.
Assistant Jailer: A general Bachelor's degree is sufficient.
Generally, the age limit for an Assistant Jailer is between 20 and 26 years. In some specific cases, such as for reserved categories, the age limit may be up to 40 years. Candidates can refer to the notification for more details regarding age limits and qualifications.

How will the selection be made?
The selection process involves several stages. First, candidates have to appear for a written examination. This is followed by a Physical Standard Test (PST) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The PST and PET assess candidates' height, chest (for male candidates), running, long jump, and overall physical fitness.
Candidates who successfully clear all these stages will be called for an oral interview or psychological test, depending on the post. The written examination will include questions on general knowledge, reasoning, aptitude, comprehension, and questions related to Assam and India. There will also be negative marking.
Salary Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Band-II. Their salary will range from ₹14,000 to ₹70,000 per month. In addition, they will receive grade pay and other allowances as per the Assam government rules.
