SBI Recruitment 2026: The State Bank of India (SBI) is considered the country's largest public sector bank. While many young people aspire to join it, not everyone gets the opportunity. However, young professionals in the medical field now have a chance to join the bank. SBI has invited applications for the post of Bank Medical Officer (BMO). Salary: Basic pay ranging from ₹64,820 to ₹93,960, plus benefits such as DA, HRA, CCA, PF, NPS, LFC, medical facilities, etc.

Eligibility for SBI BMO

Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for these posts must hold an MBBS degree from a recognized university or a college recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council. Candidates possessing a Post Graduate Diploma, Post Graduate MD/MS degree, or equivalent qualification are also eligible to apply.

Experience: Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a General Practitioner following their MBBS. This experience must be separate from the internship period. If a candidate holds a post-graduate degree, 3 years of experience will be considered valid.

Age Limit: The candidate's age must not exceed 35 years as of May 31, 2026. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided: 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 5 years for SC/ST, and 10–15 years for PwBD candidates.

SBI Medical Officer Selection Process

Online Written Test: The written test will consist of 100 questions covering Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and Professional Knowledge; there will be no negative marking. The exam duration will be 45 minutes. It is likely to be held next month, in August.

Interview: Candidates will be called for an interview (the next stage) based on their performance in the online written test. The interview will carry 100 marks.

Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): You must also clear a Local Language Proficiency Test in the language associated with the circle you are applying from. Candidates who fail this test will not be eligible for appointment. Candidates who have studied the local language in Class 10 or 12 are exempt from this test.
