Securing a government job is a dream for many, but that dream often remains unfulfilled for those without formal education. However, the Rajasthan government has announced a recruitment drive (Rajasthan Safai Karmchari Vacancy 2026) to fill 24,752 'Safai Karmchari' (sanitation worker) positions; notably, individuals who have not even passed Class 1—or are completely illiterate—are eligible to apply.

**When will the application process begin?**
According to the official notification, the application process for the Safai Karmchari recruitment will commence on August 15. Candidates can apply starting August 15 by logging into the online portal (1sg.urban.rajasthan.gov.in) or the SSO portal (sso.rajasthan.gov.in), selecting the 'Recruitment Portal Online Application Form' under 'Citizen Apps (G2C)', and filling in the required details. Completing the One-Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory for applicants. The deadline for applications is set for September 28, 2026.

**Age Limit**
To participate in this recruitment, candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as of January 1, 2027. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit.

**Eligibility**
Applicants must be bona fide residents of Rajasthan state. Additionally, they must possess an experience certificate proving one year of sanitation work at an institution recognized by the Central or State government. No specific educational qualification is prescribed for the contractual Safai Karmchari post.
Citizens of India, as well as subjects of Bhutan and Nepal, are eligible to apply for the contractual Safai Karmchari positions in urban local bodies.

**Application Fee**
Candidates belonging to the General (Unreserved) category are required to pay an application fee of ₹600, while candidates from reserved categories and persons with disabilities (PwD) must pay an application fee of ₹400.
